How to Decarboxylate your Cannabis with an Instant Pot

Level: Easy Mode

Decarboxylating your shake is necessary to activate the THC in your weed. I like to use my Instant Pot for this! There are other methods you can use like baking it in the oven too, but I find this an easy surefire way to get the job done without much fuss.

You will need:

• An Instant Pot
• A Jar
• 2 Cups of Water
• A Grinder
• Cannabis nugs and/or shake (7-14g per cup of butter you want to use)
• A Scale

Okay so I'm not going to tell you my life story because I hate recipe posts like that. It's annoying to open up a page and then have to read a fucking novel just to find out how to make something. 

Jesus Christ, Karen! I'm just trying to make chocolate chip cookies! I don't need to know how your weekend was! 

So let's get right into it! 

Step One: Get out your jar and scale and get grinding!

First, I turn on the scale and wait for it to finish booting up and then place the jar on it and tare it so I can get an accurate measurement. I'm using a clean Classico jar. I'm trash, sue me.

I like to use a small coffee grinder for anything more than a few joints because ain't nobody got time for carpal tunnel. So just press the button and add the ground product to your jar. The amount I grind depends on how much butter I'm making. 

A full brick of butter is about 2 cups so I would generally grind up around 28 grams. In this case I made it probably about twice as strong as I needed to just to see what happens. So if you add more than 28 grams I wont tell anyone. 

Step Two: Set up your Instant Pot

Put your jar inside the Instant Pot and add two cups of water

Step Three: Turn on the Instant Pot and wait

Once you've added the water put the lid on your Instant Pot so it jingles. Set the sealing tab to sealing, not venting! Then pressure cook on high for at least 40 minutes. 

Because I was doing a bigger batch I decided to double my time. 

Once the time is up you will have a jar of decarboxylated marijuana!
